Chamber of the Giants, also known as Camera dei Giganti or Sala dei Giganti, is a fresco room in Palazzo Te in Mantua. Giulio Romano created it as an immersive Mannerist environment based on the myth of the Fall of the Giants.
The fresco does not work like a framed painting. It surrounds the room as one continuous scene, with walls, vault, figures, clouds, ruins, and divine punishment merging into a single dramatic space. Jupiter appears above as the rebellious Giants are crushed by collapsing architecture, mountains, water, and storm-like force.
